The law firm of Anderson, Givens & Fredericks, P.A., founded in 2014, is seeking a highly motivated associate attorney with experience in real property and condominium/homeowner association law. Attorney must have at least 1-7 years of experience in providing general counsel services to community associations or other business entities and should have superior research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills. The position is primarily a general counsel position, with some light courtroom appearances or pleading drafting in support of the firm’s litigation counsel. A portable book of business is a plus and would be considered in the overall compensation package offered but it is not required. The position is located in Tallahassee or Sarasota, but the firm will consider applicants who have a portable book of business and are interested in opening an office in another Florida city.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct legal research and analysis on various community association and real property issues
– Draft legal documents, including governing/corporate documents, contracts, and agreements
– Assist with case management, including document review and organization
– Prepare for and participate in client meetings, court hearings, and local government meetings/hearings
– Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
– Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
– Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
– Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations
Qualifications:
– Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
– Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida
– Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
– Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
– Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
